Learning that your child has a disability can be a traumatic experience. Parents have many questions and concerns in coping with their child’s needs and their own feelings. Our groups, let by a trained Parent to Parent Coordinator, meet once a month to discuss these challenges and to offer support and education. All of our Parent to Parent Coordinators have a child of their own with a disability, so they have personal experiences with the unique challenges that this can bring. Personal support from another parent, who has a child with similar needs, can be helpful in coping with these challenging experiences and feelings as well. Trained volunteer Helping Parents are available to provide support and information.
The Arc of Grays Harbor coordinates the Parent to Parent group of Grays Harbor and also Pacific county. Grays Harbor County Parent Connections meets at 5:30 on the second Wednesday of every month at The Arc of Grays Harbor (Click for directions). Please see our Facebook Groups for upcoming group topics and workshops!
